2013 BAFSA Local Authority Seminars
12th September, Hampton, Middlesex
BAFSA believes that there are significant benefits of incorporating sprinklers into buildings. We recognise that the industry has an obligation to provide authoritative, impartial, high quality information on the uses and benefits of fire sprinkler systems thus BAFSA works closely with the fire service, building control officers, insurers, architects, construction companies, developers and town planners.
Following the successful completion of the Callow Mount sprinkler retrofit project, BAFSA is busy promoting through seminars, presentations and press coverage the results and recommending that the option of retrofitting automatic fire suppression systems should be properly considered by all relevant stakeholders when considering or planning:
· major refurbishment programmes of high rise accommodation
· developing of fire safety strategies for sheltered housing
· undertaking and reviewing statutory fire risk assessments
· considering the cost effectiveness of various fire safety measures
This ground breaking project provides invaluable insight and practical information for all those with responsibility for fire safety in high-rise social housing blocks and housing vulnerable people anywhere.
As part of the association’s public service remit and the need to promote sensible savings, our seminars and the literature available on the day are offered at no cost to delegates.
